01-07JAN14 - Houma, LA (happy birthday jaxson)

We started the new year on Wednesday, 01JAN, discovering that Jaxson was sick:(  On a more positive note as of 02JAN, Dan is no longer considered a mobility impaired individual by the state of Louisiana! Of course that means no more using those convenient "reserved" spaces found in most parking lots.

 

Friday evening, 03JAN, we met the kids & grandkids at Peppers Pizza for a "birthday" dinner for Jaxson.

 

 

To celebrate his real birthday on Saturday, Rebecca & Raymond hosted a big party at LA Sports, a gymnastics facility.  Although the kids were the ones running around & trying all the apparatuses, it appears the adults were the most tired at the end of the event?

 

Sunday was spent not doing much but recovering from Jaxson's birthday party.  Unfortunately both grandkids & Rebecca are now sick; the recent record cold weather probably didn't help.  Corrie did get to try out one of her Xmas gifts - a food dehydrator.  First experiment was beef jerky, which everyone loved!

 

Monday, 06JAN, we had planned on a RV trip to visit friends & sightsee in Florida.  But because of the cold weather, we have decided to delay our departure until Wednesday.  Tuesday evening Joe came over to show Rebecca how to fry fish with a mustard & bread crumb coating - very good!
