01-30NOV22 - Sultan. WA (turkey dayπŸ—)

November doesn’t get off to a great start for Dan; on Thursday, 03NOV, Dan has dental in AM to replace old tooth filling with a crown
Friday AM Dan heads to Edmonds ferry enroute to Rebecca to help babysit grandsons (feeling ill); unfortunately only one ferry (not two) on run & Dan sits for extra hour.  After getting to Silverdale Dan picks up Jaxson & Mason from after school daycare.  Not much done after mom Rebecca gets home.

Saturday AM off to Lobe soccer field for Mason’s game; then to Blu Berry Frozen Yogurt for postgame treat.  Back to house for chores.  Dinner was take out from Unko’s Kitchen, small Hawaiian counter in the back of a gas station convenience store.  We had katsu chicken, kalua pork, & masubi, all excellent.  Then first family fire circle & Smores.  Sunday AM Dan heads to Kingston ferry terminal & home to Corrie.

Thursday AM, 10NOV, Corrie heads to Edmonds ferry to babysit grandboys while Dan heads to Sultan Food Bank for most of day.  Friday AM (Veterans Day) Dan at food bank & Corrie still grandkid baby sitting in Bremerton, more mowing of wet grass for Dan.

Saturday, 12NOV, Dan does few odd jobs around house/property & more mowing.  After grandson Jaxson’s soccer in Silverdale; Corrie brings Jaxson to our house because tomorrow, Sunday, Jaxson has another game closer to us in Woodinville.  So he will spend the night with us; then after late afternoon Sunday game Dan will take Jaxson home to Silverdale, WA and spend the night there.  This will allow daughter Rebecca to pick husband Raymond up at SeaTac airport late Sunday night without waking & taking the boys.  While with us Jaxson had his first driving lesson from Opa😊

Monday AM Dan wakes up & helps Rebecca get boys ready for school & drives them to school.  Then it is off to the Kingston ferry terminal & home to Corrie😊  Corrie has medical to check progress on cataract procedure.  Then food bank for Dan in evening for food distribution.

Saturday, 19NOV, Dan catches ferry to see Jaxson soccer game in Bremerton; learns on ferry no game  So quick visit with Pitre’s and back to house to Sultan.

Monday, 21NOV, is record of 14 days of no rain in Nov (always our wettest month)!  Tuesday, 22NOV, “typical” Seattle fall/winter weather returns – rain all day; pho takeout for dinner.  Start preparing for our tomorrow departure to Rebecca, Raymond’s & grandboys for Turkey Day holiday.

Wednesday early AM in the truck & take Edmonds ferry to Pitre’s.  You could definitely tell that many workers are planning on leaving “sometime” today for turkey day because it is normal rush hour & little traffic on road & no ferry line?

Turkey Day, in morning Raymond & grandboys head off to “friendly” jui jitsu sparring meet.  Dan & ladies watch world cup soccer.  This year’s excellent dinner (prepared by Corrie & Rebecca) featured an entrΓ©e of prime rib roast!  Friday’s leftover meal was beef stroganoff made from yesterday’s prime rib roast😊  Saturday AM up, eat breakfast, pack truck & head back to our house to unpack & veg out.

Tuesday, 29NOV, Dan heads to Formisano’s to work on Dan’s CG website issue.  Snow starts falling during drive & Corrie stays home; snow/ice on road will be treacherous tomorrow.  We install new 5G wifi from Xfiniti (unfortunately they assume you will follow instructions on their Xfiniti app you previously installed on your phone.  Since Dan refuses to download any App to his cell phone, he has to call 800 number.  Surprisingly Xfiniti rep tells Dan many customers can’t navigate App and call 800 number!  Lose electrical power after dinner & doesn’t come back on before we go to bed.

Wednesday (last day of November) wake up still no power and no cable☹☹.  Majority of roads covered in ice/compact snow; we decide to hunker down.  Dan hooks up generator to house.  That’s ok for everything but heat (genset can’t handle load when heat system switches from heat pump to forced air coils).  Finally get power back before dinner and cable at 8:30PM😊  But after we all the electric systems back up and on Dan finds out the garage door system on the house garage no longer works properly; same story on the small garage door of the RV/shop building.  Dan also discovers that generator exhaust is helpful in clearing the driveway?
