Thursday AM, 26SEP, we head over to RV park office to inform
them that we had “illegally” entered park last night & hooked up our
electrical & water to our RV. No
problem since office was closed on our arrival, & we get last night for free. After Corrie does some grocery shopping, we
head into New London, CT, for lobster rolls at Capt Scotts Lobster Landing
(last visited 2009). We had cold lobster
rolls - excellent, Rhode Island clam chowder (clear broth) – very good, New
England clam chowder – poor, & cole slaw – good.
Our second reason for going to New London was because the
internet says gas is 20-30 cents cheaper per gallon, compared to Mystic or
Stonington. It was & we filled up
the Toad. That evening the area was hit
with 1/2 inch of rain in half hour.

Friday morning Dan started the day by washing the Toad. For lunch we head to Costellos Clam Shack in
Noank Village. Corrie goes with lobster
salad roll, Dan goes with fried whole belly clam roll, & we share lobster
bisque. Our original plan was to eat at
Abbotts Lobster in the Rough. Abbotts is
well known & always busy, so we decided to go elsewhere. Costellos was good, but it turns out that
they are really owned by Abbots Lobster in the Rough? Then it was off to Mystic for a walkabout (too crowded/busy).

Saturday thru Monday (end of Sept) not much done because Corrie
was under the weather; requiring an urgent care visit on Monday. Dan did change out the RV driving
lights. Lastly we ran across another
German tour bus similar to the one in Seward July 2015, during our Alaska trip. For the adventurous the company (Rotel) has
tours to the most remote parts of the world that you can drive an all-wheel
drive bus to!
