Tuesday morning,
21JUL, we made the final push to house in Sultan, WA. Leaving the RV park put us on a beautiful portion
of Trans Canada 1 Highway; an extremely beautiful drive but can see how it would
be challenging in winter. Crossing the
border took us 30 seconds at Sumas, WA.
As always I-5 from Bellingham, WA, to US 2 in Everett was no fun; 206
miles driven. Immediately upon parking
the RV Corrie started working on the yard/gardens & doing the laundry,
while Dan turned the utilities back on, washed the Toad, & partially
emptied RV cargo holds.
Since we are leaving
in less than three weeks for a family reunion in Manitoba, Canada, the rest of
our brief time in Sultan was spent:
---many days spent emptying
RV, washing RV, complete cleaning of RV interior to get rid of Alaska/Canada
dust that got into every nook, cranny & drawer
---major cleaning of
Toad, including pounds of gravel in the pick-up bed from our Alaska trip
---even though
Seattle is experiencing major drought (tenth of an inch of rain since March,
& more 90 degree days then ever recorded) still tons of gardening, mowing, brush
hogging, etc, to prep for next absence
---Dan’s birthday
---medical &
dental
---discovering bear
scat on property & tracks across the deck
Before we knew it,
it was time to backload the RV & secure the property to commence our drive
to Sprucewoods, Manitoba, tomorrow (09AUG).
