01-30JUN23 Sultan, WA (what happened to junuary?)

Thursday (first day of June) lovely weather.  Later in the AM Lowes technicians finally show-up to install new dishwasher.  Then Dan takes old dishwasher to local recycling business.  Corrie has medical appointment; then runs errands and preps for her trip tommorrow to the Pitre’s.  Friday AM Dan heads to food bank & Corrie heads to Pitre’s.  Already unheard of water restrictions being be announced in western WA, can’t be climate change, can it?  Normally June is known as Junuary (rainy and cold)!!  Saturday Dan dog sits while Corrie is in Silverdale to help daughter Rebecca with her garden and landscaping.  Sunday AM, 04JUN, Corrie returns home and immediately tends to her garden.

Tuesday Dan works on leaking pool pump; then removes deteriorating pool solar cover and orders replacement.  June on track to be fifth driest start to a year ever since 1985.  Wednesday mid 80’s and probably no rain on horizon.  Not much done outside; Dan cleans pool and installs new solar cover (good thing these covers are cheap because they barely last two years of short summer use).

Saturday, 10JUN, rain that returned couple of days ago & continues.  After lunch we head to Dan’s aunt Madeline Harris’ celebration of life.  She passed away 13MAR two months shy of her 99th orbit of the sun.  Truly sad day - but good gathering of family & friends.  Then back to the house to veg out.

13JUN, Tuesday cloudy with rain at lunch; AM Corrie heads to Silverdale to help with Jaxson foot injury (turf toe).  Dan finds main control box for front gate fell of fence and laying on the ground; not much more done.  Wednesday, Corrie comes back home late morning; Dan remounts gate control box on fence.  Saturday AM, 17JUN, pack up truck and head to the Pitre’s in Silverdale for Father’s Day & Jaxson elementary graduation.

Sunday AM off to jiu jitsu tournament at Puyallup Fair Grounds where the Washington State Fair is held, and home of Puyallup’s famous Fisher Scone – so naturally Dan had to have one to check it out.

WIKI says – “On June 1, 1911, Fisher Flouring Mills celebrates its official opening. The two founders, O. W. Fisher, father, and O. D. Fisher, son, had begun mill operations in April. The Fisher mill is one of the first industrial businesses to open on Harbor Island, located in Elliott Bay at the mouth of the Duwamish waterway. Construction of the artificial island was completed in 1909.

In 1926, the Fishers founded a radio station (KOMO) and went on the air in part to advertise Fisher's Blend Flour. Another famous product was Fisher Scones, purveyed at fairs and festivals throughout the Northwest. The president of the Puyallup Fair, William Paulhamus, discovered the triangular shaped scones in 1915 at the Panama Pacific Exposition in San Francisco. He debuted the scones at the Puyallup Fair the same year.”

Son-in-law Raymond was “coaching” all day; and Mason competed and took silver even beating the best kid in his class/weight.  Turns out that opponent’s dad is Mighty Mouse (aka Demetrious Johnson) UFC and ONE International MMA champion.  Rebecca and boys went from tournament to pizza parlor and we went back to Silverdale to take care of dogs.  Corrie prepares excellent Puget Sound clams for Father’s Day dinner, & cribbage after dinner.

Monday weather so/so; not much done.  Tuesday AM, 20JUN, elementary graduation day for Jaxson. Then rush back to the house to load truck and get dogs; catch ferry to Edmonds, drive home in the rain, unpack and veg out; take out for dinner.

Thursday AM, 22JUN, Dan heads out to a lunch time gathering of CG Academy Classmates for lunch.  Great time with no lies told but lots of Sea Stories.  Three hours at Buffalo Wild Wings in Tukwila, WA; almost two years since last luncheon.

Tuesday early AM, 27JUN, Dan heads to Edmonds ferry and Pitre’s in Silverdale, WA, to babysit grandsons (Jaxson & Mason) while Rebecca & Raymond are at work for rest of week.  Since school is now out, they need short term sitters to get thru the week.  Soccer practice for select team players in early evening then family dinner.

Wednesday AM Dan take boys for Jaxson’s turf toe medical follow-up (meet Rebecca at doctor’s office).  During afternoon boys set up pet rock stand with neighbor Caleb.  Boys even have box of unpainted rocks so you can paint your own pet rock for twenty five cents.

Thursday Dan takes boys to base pool followed by subway for lunch.  Rebecca & Raymond's friends Johnny & Sebastian stop by for dinner and conversation.  Friday last day of June; boys back out selling pet rocks.

Then Dan heads home, great views of Seattle and Mt Rainer on ferry ride🙃
