Monday (first day of June) the immediate family continue our vigil by Sharon’s side in Palliative Care. No set routine of when to visit, or how many. Just insure she is never alone and one of immediate family (Tim or a daughter) is with her through the day and night. During the days when not at hospital, it was just routine things of no importance, but that have to be taken care of (meals, laundry, errands, haircut, etc).
Saturday, 06JUN, Sharon passes at 3AM; daughter Marisa was with her. Husband Tim, daughter Aimee, daughter Julia
and Dan head to hospital. For final
goodbyes, & hospital paperwork. Then everyone heads back to Julia & Casey’s house.
Dan’s son, Joe,
shows up, have driven from Houma, LA.
Rest of day spent decompressing from last week, reminiscing, and just
talking. Joe has brought t-bone steaks
with him - farm raised, grass fed, no hormone, so he barbequed them. Aimee and Julia prepared the sides.
Sunday not much
done. Joe heads back to Houma, LA. Dan makes plane reservation for return home. Tuesday morning, 09JUN, Dan showers, eats lite
breakfast, says goodbyes and drives to DFW airport; to fly home to Corrie and
Rocket.
So he did. He was introduced to Tim; and immediately
told by her – SHARON not Sharon Ann!
From that point on, truly great memories with Sharon and Dan’s new best
friend Tim started. Her accomplishments -
lifelong spouse; kids; grandkids; interior decorator; great cook; RV
adventurer; unique fashion style; and the list goes on!
Our last memory together with her, was last month 02MAY. Sharon made an unplanned trip to Seattle area to see two daughters and grandkids that live in the area. We (Corrie and Dan) fortunately were able to arrange visit/coffee together. We last saw her (along with daughter Aimee and husband Ben) in Everett for an all too short coffee and lunch.
